Advanced Stained Glass Workshop

Designing a Custom Tiffany-Style Window or Door Panel

Take your stained glass skills to the next level in this advanced workshop. Students will create a custom Tiffany-style stained glass panel while learning the professional techniques used to produce architectural glass for windows, cabinet doors, sidelights, and entry doors.

Participants are required to bring:

  • A full-size drawing or pattern of the project they wish to create.

  • The finished dimensions (height and width) of the panel.

  • Your design ideas and color inspiration.

During this workshop you will learn:

  • Pattern preparation and glass selection.

  • Precision glass cutting and shaping.

  • Professional grinding techniques.

  • Copper foil application using the Tiffany method.

  • Proper soldering techniques for strong, clean seams.

  • Reinforcement methods for larger stained glass panels.

  • Finishing with black or copper patina.

  • Cleaning, waxing, and polishing your completed panel for a professional finish.

All studio equipment will be provided, including glass grinders, cutting tools, soldering equipment, and finishing supplies.

Prerequisite: Students should have completed a beginning stained glass class or have prior experience with the Tiffany copper foil technique.

Whether you're designing a decorative window, cabinet insert, or entry door panel, this workshop will provide the skills and confidence to bring your custom design to life.
