Advanced Stained Glass Workshop
Designing a Custom Tiffany-Style Window or Door Panel
Take your stained glass skills to the next level in this advanced workshop. Students will create a custom Tiffany-style stained glass panel while learning the professional techniques used to produce architectural glass for windows, cabinet doors, sidelights, and entry doors.
Participants are required to bring:
A full-size drawing or pattern of the project they wish to create.
The finished dimensions (height and width) of the panel.
Your design ideas and color inspiration.
During this workshop you will learn:
Pattern preparation and glass selection.
Precision glass cutting and shaping.
Professional grinding techniques.
Copper foil application using the Tiffany method.
Proper soldering techniques for strong, clean seams.
Reinforcement methods for larger stained glass panels.
Finishing with black or copper patina.
Cleaning, waxing, and polishing your completed panel for a professional finish.
All studio equipment will be provided, including glass grinders, cutting tools, soldering equipment, and finishing supplies.
Prerequisite: Students should have completed a beginning stained glass class or have prior experience with the Tiffany copper foil technique.
Whether you're designing a decorative window, cabinet insert, or entry door panel, this workshop will provide the skills and confidence to bring your custom design to life.
