Fused Glass Leaf Workshop

Wendy W. Reich

Making fused glass leaves is a fun-forming project that works great for fall décor, bowls, ornaments, or garden art. Since you’ve worked with hop shop ideas before, I’ll assume you’re comfortable with glass basics – but this kiln work (not furnace blown).

 1-day workshop

A fun and breezy introduction to glass fusing. Participants explore the expressive dynamics of color and light as they cut and collage colored glasses to fuse (melt) together, making their own leaves. Fun to use entertaining or gifting.

Wendy”visual brainstorming” exercise launches the program, providing students with steps and methods for creating their own dynamic designs with lively color play and personally meaningful abstractions in fused glass.

Particpants create leaves fused glass of their own design and learn Wendy’s precision glass cutting techniques. Glass assembly and kiln firing technologies are also covered.

10 AM to 4 AM - Maximum 8 Students

Wendy W. Reich’s Bio
I have been creating with glass since 1995 after enrolling in a stained glass course. As my passion and interest in glass continued to develop, I became a self- taught mosaic artistand began working with mixed media mosaics, clay, and glass fusing. My artistic journey has meandered away from mosaics and further into kiln fired glass. Working with the kiln as my partner, it allows me to create shapes and textures, form new colors
and adding fused glass elements to bring dimension and reflection of light. My glass inspiration is influenced by leaves, flowers, and items from beaches and forest walks.
