Daniel Reilly
This class is an introduction to glassmaking for those interested in the basics of working at the furnace. Students will learn simple gathering and shaping techniques with a focus on building strong fundamentals through hands-on instruction and fun exercises. Students can expect to come away with a straightforward knowledge of paperweights, cups, and bowls.

Daniel Reilly’s Bio
Westcoaster graduated from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. I Really learned from all the glass studios I worked in in the Bay Area for ten years from Cohn-stone, J Fine, Wilsea-O’brien, Randy Strong and casting at John Lewis. I had a studio in West Oakland for 18 years then moved north to Sonoma Ca. opening' Off Square Glass Studio’ which lasted Four years. Was one of the opening teachers of ’The Crucible’-a non profit dedicated to the fire arts- as well as a stint at Penland Glass Department.
My early work was function wears -lots of goblets, canne work, bowls, vases, marbles then moved to bigger lighting and restoration projects with architects and designers in San Francisco, New York and London. I’ve been teaching since the early years focusing mostly on color and hot shop techniques.
